Emerge Skillnet Aim
The aim of the Emerge Skillnet is "the business integration and growth of ethnic entrepreneurs and their businesses in a multi-cultural Ireland” with a supporting aim “to establish a national Training Network for businesses run by ethnic entrepreneurs and their employees, indigenous businesses with ethnic employees and ethnic support organisations, initially providing training in Dublin and Cork, spreading to Galway/Mayo during 2008, with the flexibility to respond to other needs as they arise”. The network will provide opportunities for ethnic businesses and employees to benefit from the power of networking, both among themselves, with support organisations and the wider Irish mainstream business community.
Supporting aims
- To establish a national training network for businesses run by ethnic entrepreneurs and their support organizations, initially providing training in Dublin and Cork, spreading to Galway/Mayo during 2008, with the flexibility to respond to other needs as they arise
- To ensure that ethnic businesses in Ireland understand, appreciate and participate in the benefits of training
- To assist ethnic businesses to integrate into the Irish business community through knowledge and skills and where possible to gain recognized qualifications
- To provide opportunities for ethic businesses to benefit from the power of networking, both among themselves, with support organisations and the wider mainstream business community
- To provide customized enterprise-led training which has been developed with members input
- To ensure that the training caters specifically for the needs of the ethnic community in an increasingly competitive and challenging marketplace
